The essentials: Mismatched plaids, lace-up shoes, leathery pants and parkas, sweater dresses, satiny dresses and jackets, knee skirts, little black dresses, patent bags, white tights, visors, Mary Janes.

The palette: Gray, black, red, off-white, camel, navy.

Bottom line: Isabel Toledo's first collection for the classic sportswear label was bold, eclectic, and intricately detailed. But ultimately, there weren't many looks we loved.
