Tress S.O.S.
Saturday
If you've ever shampooed with Clairol Herbal Essences, the experience was probably more "rinse, lather, repeat" than "totally orgasmic" (granted, the commercials say "totally organic," but with all that moaning, it's clear what they're getting at). Still, the results--sexy, delicious-smelling hair--have always made the "urge to herbal" a compelling proposition. If that wasn't enough to make you say "yesss" in the past, the brand has recently undergone a makeover, launching not one but ten new lines containing a total of more than 30 products. Encased in vibrant, playful packaging, each collection is designed to address specific hair needs, and the products can be either used together as a system or mixed and matched for a custom regimen.

Five shampoo-and-conditioner lines are committed to improving hair's condition: Break's Over protects against split ends and damage, Hello Hydration replenishes parched tresses, Color Me Happy gives color-treated hair dimension and shine, None of Your Frizziness combats frizz all day, and Drama Clean clarifies strands, ridding them of product buildup and residue. Meanwhile, three other collections offer shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products to achieve specific styling goals: Totally Twisted smoothes and defines curls and waves, Dangerously Straight transforms unruly strands into pin-straight locks, and Body Envy helps volume-challenged gals achieve new fullness.

In addition, the revamped Herbal Essences offers Set Me Up, a line of mousses, hair sprays, and gels formulated with cactus flower and bamboo extracts that come in various strengths, textures, and finishes. But my favorite new collection is Shimmery Nights, whose unique spray gel, flyaway smoother, and shimmer mist are infused with diamond dust and champagne. After just a few spritzes, my hair glistened with a hints of glamorous, night-on-the-town shimmer. Best of all, the average retail price for most of the Herbal Essences products a mere $2.99--and who can't say "yesss" to that? --Courtney Sauve
