Fantastic Voyage
Tuesday
When a beauty brand looks overseas for inspiration, the locale of choice is usually a tropical resort or a Parisian runway. But Sue Devitt's latest collection boasts a more unexpected point of departure: Scandinavia. If Abba or death metal comes to mind, we can assure you, there's none of that on the bill. Instead, the collection, called Viking Voyage, draws on the diverse colors of the region's landscape for a lush set of fire-and-ice shades. The result not only takes beauty addicts on a cosmetics journey through Scandinavia's many natural splendors, but also serves as an ideal palette for this season's rich, bold looks.

The line includes three Silky Sheen Eye Shadows ($18 each; beauty.com) in Westmann Isles, an electric blue; Midnight Sun, a luminous pink; and Nordland, a soft, shimmering chocolate. The Balanced Matte Lipstick ($20) in Northern Lights is a glistening rose that strikes a welcome balance between this season's deep-impact trend and everyday wearability. The Mini Lip Glosses ($18 each) come in Riffa, a silver ivory; Manama, a burnt gold; and Taza, a burnished amber (for the ultimate high-dimension lip, layer Taza over the Northern Lights lipstick). And then there's the Transitional Gel-to-Powder Blush ($20) in North Cape, a foolproof, long-wearing bronze that's perfect for all skin tones. --Jennifer Riley
