Pretty Slick
Thursday
After legendary designer and hunky heartthrob Tom Ford quit his day job at Gucci, he briefly turned his attention to film, but eventually returned to what he does best--making women more beautiful. Although his eponymous cosmetic line isn't scheduled to hit counters until this fall, Ford has, in the meantime, been hard at work reimagining some of Estée Lauder's most iconic products. Last fall's Amber Nude collection revolved around themes of seduction and intimacy (embodied by the Youth Dew Amber Nude fragrance), and this summer's Azurée is designed to take beauty addicts on an entirely different journey--to the luxurious beaches of the Mediterranean. My favorite product to take you there? The Azurée Body Oil Spray ($28.50; saksfifthavenue.com). A new version of the 1969 classic, the oil dries quickly, gives skin a silky sheen, and offers a delicious blend of Tahitian gardenia petals, coconut, orange blossom, sandalwood, vetiver, and myrrh. What that means for the wearer? The oil will make you feel like you're escaping to impossibly chic Capri, even if you're just sipping frozen cocktails by the pool or dragging the patio furniture out of the rain for the eighth time this month. --Marlen Harrison
