Paradise Found
Thursday
Even if you're confined to a cubicle this summer, you can still indulge in a little olfactory escapism. My favorite new getaway scent? Tommy Bahama's Very Cool ($55; nordstrom.com). The brand's second women's fragrance, Very Cool is a mouthwatering elixir housed in a stunning iridescent glass bottle that's topped with a bleached wooden cap. Unlike 2005's Tommy Bahama for Women, which focused on white floral notes like tuberose and honeysuckle, Very Cool is an aquatic-citrus blend that combines juicy fruits (tangerine, clementine, nectarine, and pink pomelo) with dewy greens and lush florals (cactus flower, hibiscus, and cassis). As the fragrance progresses, a breeze of musk and cedar unfolds on the skin, adding a warm, full-bodied dimension to the accord. Also long-lasting, Very Cool would be ideal for anyone who loves Escada Tropical Punch or Miami Glow. And of course, it's perfect for transporting office-bound types to their virtual vacation paradise--namely, a tropical island at dusk, with large frozen cocktail in hand. --Marlen Harrison
