'Do Gooders

If you've been spending more time in the sea than on land lately, damaged summer strands are almost a given. And even if you haven't escaped the office since April, hot tools and chemical treatments may have taken an even greater toll on your tresses. Luckily, Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil line calls on advanced science and nature's most nourishing ingredients to mimic the oils that coat healthy hair. Inspired by traditional home recipes, the collection--which contains the Nourishing Shampoo ($18; kiehls.com), Conditioner ($19. shown left), and Deeply Repairative Hair Pak ($25, above right)--is formulated with avocado oil, lemon extract, and olive fruit oil to boost elasticity and lock in moisture. The result? Frazzled summer strands are promptly nursed back to health. With my short, fine hair, the shampoo and conditioner alone provided more-than-sufficient smoothing. For my sister, who has long, thick tresses, the Repairative Hair Pak proved to be a frizz-busting wonder, softening and hydrating her strands without weighing them down. As if that weren't enough, the Olive Fruit Oil line boasts another luxurious boon--a delicious, fruity scent that's sweet but never cloying. --Erin Roop
