Fresh Fruit
Wednesday
Although it may not be the most high-profile fruit, the humble kiwi trumps its counterparts on nearly every nutritional front: It's got twice the vitamin E of an avocado (with only 60 percent of the calories) and almost double the vitamin C of an orange; it even outranks the banana in the low-sodium/high-potassium arena. In the olfactory world, the fruit also offers an array of little-known benefits, but this summer, it's stealing the spotlight as the signature note of Guerlain's limited-edition Aqua Allegoria Tutti Kiwi ($49; sephora.com). Light yet long-lasting, the fragrance opens with sparkling notes of mandarin, lemon, and rhubarb (an unusual, delicious addition), which give way to middle notes of kiwi and geranium and a warm base of vanilla and sandalwood. Although the kiwi is evident, it's not at all overpowering (so you won’t smell like a fruit salad), and the accord itself is refreshingly simple and summer-appropriate (if you're looking for sexy or complex, this aroma isn't for you). In typical Aqua Allegoria fashion (and like Guerlain's other limited-edition summer offering, Grosellina), Tutti Kiwi comes in a frosted glass bottle embellished with gold overlay--packaging that combines modern elegance with the opulence of the Byzantine era. --Tara Mattarazzo

Gotta love Guerlain. The Allegoria scents are always great, light, simple, but they always unfold into something beautiful and unexpected. With this one, the rhubarb note gives it that unique twist.

I've never tried these scents before but I saw the bottle on Sephora the other day and have been thinking about the bottle ever since. You're right - it does look Byzantine!
