It’s no secret that quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your looks and your life. But butting out is often easier said than done. That’s why Joey NY recently launched LipNIX, a line of scented lipsticks ($18; joeyny.com), glosses ($15), and balms ($12), all designed to help the addicted kick the habit. Calling on aromachology—a science that studies the effects of scents on the human body and mind—the products contain a proprietary blend of lemon, geranium, and helichrysum notes. According to the company, “When applied to the lips, the fresh aroma has proven to safely help curb your urge to smoke.” While we can’t say it cured our craving for nicotine (we’ve been smoke-free for five years now), it certainly can’t hurt to try. After all, the placebo effect has been well documented for years, and the appealing shades contain plumping and hydrating properties.

In addition to LipNIX, Joey NY has recently unveiled Instant Chemistry, a skin-care collection that delivers quick fixes to common complexion conundrums (blackheads, puffiness, fine lines, and more), along two other lip lines aimed at enhancing consumer lifestyles. LipFIT promises to curb appetites and thus promote weight loss with the help of peppermint, grapefruit, and spearmint, while CinnaMEN features cinnamon and vanilla scents—scientifically proven aphrodisiacs for the Y-chromosome set. —Jennifer Riley
