Find of the Week: Lost and Found
Saturday
I’ve probably been watching too much Lost, but LaRok’s sweetly embellished Castaway cotton dress ($300; bigdropnyc.com) is the kind of cool, airy number I could get stranded in all summer long. (And just an aside: If I were the world’s biggest movie star, about to give birth in a remote African country while armies of paparazzi chomped at the bit for my first post-pregnancy pics, I’d demand that my lover whip out his AmEx and purchase the gossamer frock immediately.)

The eyelet detail, covered buttons, and Empire band add vintage appeal without making the dress looking too costumey, and the spaghetti straps and fitted V-neck save the silhouette from veering into shapeless muumuu territory. The tiers, of course, take their cue from spring’s inescapable ruffle trend, but in this case, we can all breathe a heavy sigh of relief: They’re understated and wearable (a far cry from, say, Viktor and Rolf’s runway implosion). —Jennifer Riley
