Scents of the Season
Monday
It’s not easy finding a fragrance that’s poised enough to wear at a power lunch and flirty enough to attract the attention of a potential love interest. But I’ve recently sniffed out four scents that hit all the right notes and then some. Lancome Hypnose ($54.50; lancome-usa.com), with passion flower, vetiver, and vanilla, strikes just the right balance between sheer and sensual, as long as you spray with restraint (we're currently awaiting Lancome's limited-edition Trésor Sheer, featuring rose litchi, peach blossom, and sandalwood). Gendarme Carriére Eau de Parfum ($40; gendarme.com)—“originally formulated for the working woman,” according to the company—is a versatile blend of tangy citrus, relaxing lavender, sweet lilac, and sensual jasmine encased in a sleek white bottle. Perfect for the fragrance minimalist, Philosophy’s popular Pure Grace ($35; philosophy.com) is a crisp, soapy mix of bergamot, water lily, lavender, jasmine, and cool greens. And for something mouthwatering and suitable year-round, look no further than Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom & Honey ($50; bergdorfgoodman.com, shown), an irresistible mélange of peach, plum, black currant, and honey. —Kai Alexis Smith

Great round-up! I can't wait for the Tresor Sheer, the bottle looks beautiful.
