Pen Pal
Monday
It’s the bane of the busy girl’s beauty routine: trying to achieve a flawless at-home French manicure. In the past, those seeking a perfect Parisian finish could attempt to D.I.Y. it the old-fashioned way, obsessing over each nail armed with a bottle of acetone and a Q-tip. Or they could rely on the standard sticky-backed templates (the ones that are supposedly so easy to use but mysteriously wind up removing half the polish when you peel them off). Either way, the process was time-consuming and rarely yielded salonworthy results. Enter Sephora’s French Manicure Tips & Toes Pen ($8; sephora.com)—a felt-tipped marker packed with white polish that puts those Q-tips and fussy templates to shame. It may take a few tries to get the hang of angling and gliding the pen’s thick tip, but once you do, the polish dries within 30 seconds, and after finishing with a clear topcoat, the results are impressive: knockout nails that look like you spent far more than a mere ten minutes on them.—Courtney Sauve
