From Tips to Lips
Thursday
Ask any product junkie about Ballet Slippers or Mademoiselle, and you won’t get a play-by-play on spring footwear or the now-defunct magazine. Instead, you’ll hear about Essie’s iconic nail colors (tales of where and when she wore the shades, glowing reviews on their anti-chip abilities). Now, Essie addicts have something new to rave about. The company's newly launched Gloss-e collection features high-sheen moisturizing lip polishes in several of the brand’s legendary hues, including Ballet Slippers (a pale pink with a hint of shimmer), Fed Up (a peachy pink), Mademoiselle (a sheer vibrant pink), Tea & Crumpets (a tawny rust), Vanity Fairest (a translucent pink with a bit of glitter), and Waltz (a sheer silvery white). Much like the nail lacquers, the lanolin-free glosses are light, long-wearing, and water-resistant. And because they’re packed with retinyl palmitate and avocado oil, they’re perfect for banishing post-winter dryness. Equally appealing are Essie’s newest nail offerings: The Spring Cayman Islands, Weddings, and Summer lines feature an array of gorgeous shades that, with some luck, will eventually spawn their own glosses, too. —Tara Mattarazzo
