Skin-Care Steals
Monday
In an ideal world, I’d never let a little thing like price stop me from buying multitudes of pricey products in an endless search for the perfect skin-care line. However, like most of us who don’t share the same last name as a hotel chain, money is an issue (which is why I still haven’t given in to a certain $150 seaweed face cream...). So imagine how great it was to learn that my local CVS pharmacy could offer me the best of both worlds—top-shelf anti-aging products at a price I can live with. CVS is now the proud parent of its very own cosmeceutical skin-care line, Skin Effects. Created in conjunction with dermatologist Jeffrey Dover, Skin Effects is packed with all the latest skin-care advancements. Standouts include the Wrinkle Relaxing Serum with Lycopene ($20; cvs.com), a natural antioxidant found in tomatoes that reduces fine lines; the Advanced Brightening Complex ($20), which helps diminish sun spots and old acne scars; and the Lip Magnifier ($20), which is packed with ginseng and ginkgo bilkoba to make lips pinker, fuller, and more luscious looking—all at a fraction of the cost of other lip enhancers on the market. The best part? Skin Effect’s nine products are each priced at less than $30, so I won’t feel the least bit guilty about buying them all. —Jennifer Magid

CVS and Walgreens will soon rule the world. They have realy improved their Beauty departments of late.Great for those of us who have them on every corner and find it a bit more difficult to get to department stores.
