Eat Your Heart Out, Edie!
Saturday
In case you haven’t heard, mod is back for spring. And with all things mod comes the inevitable white eye shadow. But how does a modern-day girl wear this ’60s beauty staple without looking like a mime? Well, that’s another story. On my quest to achieve true modishness, I turned to the sales associates at my local Sephora. After covering my lids with Paula Dorff Eye Primer ($24; sephora.com), they swept a coat of Bobbi Brown White Eye Shadow ($19; bobbibrowncosmetics.com, shown) up to the brow, then dusted Lorac Eye Shadow in Shimmer ($16; sephora.com) over my lids. (They said I looked like Edie Sedgwick. I thought I looked more like Barbra Streisand.) But the true mod transformation happened when they drew a cat’s eye with Benefit’s Bad Gal liner ($18; benefitcosmetics.com) along my top lash line, swept Mr. Frosty white iridescent liner ($18; benefitcosmetics.com) across the bottom, and then finished with Lorac blush in Desire, a pale pink, and Urban Decay XXX Shine Lip Gloss in Carney ($15; sephora.com). With my newly flung cheekbones and high-sheen lips, I looked like one of those painted black-and-white pictures—all features, accented with a hint of sheer rose. So when you want to glam it up, girls, work your white shadow like you own the Factory. Combine it with some serious liner and sparkle, or for a subtler effect, dab just a bit at the inside corner of your eyes and watch them pop. Either way, you’ll find that these pale powders are surprisingly wearable. —Eliana Meirowitz

That's great that you liked the look. I hope you bought the Badgal liner, it's hot!
