Designer’s Destiny
Friday
Beyoncé, Beyoncé, Beyoncé. Apparently, we just can’t get enough. Over the past decade, R&B’s golden girl has lent her larger-than-life celebrity to everything from the Billboard charts to L’Oreal endorsements. So in the grand tradition of multitasking superstars—and as part of her natural progression into authentic divadom—the Bootylicious One has joined forces with her mom, Tina Knowles (the stylistic mastermind behind the Destiny’s Child fashion hits and misses), to launch the House of Dereon line.

Named in honor of Beyoncé’s grandmother, professional seamstress Agnéz Dereon, the brand has boasted a small but tasteful selection of jeans and outerwear since its November debut. A pair of House of Dereon jeans averages about $100, and outerwear, with the exception of the $900 Chinchilla Rex Fur Jacket (shown), hovers around $130. The line will also feature casual sportswear, handbags, and a much-anticipated footwear collection, though no exact dates have been given for their introduction.

Lately, of course, celebrity clothing lines have become a dime a dozen, and the failure of some has proven that big names don’t always equal big sales. But this is Beyoncé, and like all things Beyoncé, the brand promises to deliver lots of star power and a little homegirl flavor. House of Dereon is currently available both online at Houseofdereon.com and at select retailers nationwide. —Janelle Harris

Not a huge fan of the jacket, but I do trust Miss Beyonce on most things, so I'll have to check out her line!

On a vaguely related note, everyone should go buy Destiny's Child's #1s CD. It's AWESOME and will put you in the best mood.

Nice jacket but it looks a bit chunky in the lower arm area maybe the sleeves are just too long
