Find of the Week: Trap Happy
Friday
If you live north of the Tropic of Cancer and haven’t purchased a winter hat, our guess is that: 1) you selflessly abandoned your own needs while fulfilling friends’ holiday wish-lists; or 2) you’re living in climate denial (and who could blame you?). But either way, you may be playing Russian roulette with your health. According to the U.S. Department of Labor (not to mention dads everywhere), up to 40 percent of the body’s heat can be lost when the head is exposed. Luckily, there are still a few stylish hats available, including this turquoise trapper by Buji Baja for Hat Attack ($75; shopneda.com). More Dr. Zhivago than Davey Crockett, it features a tweed wool shell and rabbit-fur lining, which will keep you looking chic and help reduce your walking-pneumonia risk. —Tara Mattarazzo
