Jet-setting can be as jolting as it is jazzy, and I’m not just talking turbulence. Whether traveling to Albany or Albania, changing coordinates can be exhausting, stressful, and—upon giving yourself the once over in a public-bathroom mirror—downright scary. But there’s no need for girls on the go to arrive at their final destinations looking like they’ve just stepped off a steamboat down the River Styx. San Francisco–based Passport Cosmetics offers landing gear that helps reverse the nasty effects of sleeping while sitting up and breathing recycled air. Best friends and founders Erin Cotter and Meredith McGann have designed a range of beauty products that are portable (who ever has room in her carry-on for an entire makeup case?) and powerful in the fight against jet lag and the dreaded Travelers’ Frumpiness syndrome. Destination Lip Tint ($14; amazon.com), one of my personal favorites in Karaoked in Kyoto, contains vitamin E and aloe to mega-moisturize lips while giving puckers a shimmery, berry-colored sheen. But the ultimate in getaway beauty is Lipsticket ($16; sephora.com, shown), a package of 30 convenient lipstick applications in three colors that are preserved on mini-tickets covered with peel-away plastic. Ideal for mirror-less moments, just fold, press between lips, slide out, and voila! Ten hours on the train, but still looking luminously lush. —Giordana Segneri
