Gowntime
Tuesday
Short of a shotgun engagement to Prince Harry or recurring guest spot on Sex and the City: The Retirement Years, there’s little chance I’ll be wearing a glamorous, floor-skimming gown anytime soon. Except, of course, on New Year’s Eve—an occasion that calls for supreme ostentation. Fortunately, the fall runways provided an array of jaw-dropping dresses from which to choose. Valentino’s beige brocade number, Donna Karen’s dreamy black taffeta strapless dress (above), and Versace’s body-hugging teal gown with thigh-high slit (above) are extravagant enough for any belle of the ball. But if you prefer your gowns with more glitz, look no further than Dolce & Gabbana’s troupe of lavish crystal-and-fur-embellished dresses (above). One part ’60s sex kitten, the other futuristic fembot, they’ll guarantee an unforgettable auld lang syne (Barbarella coiffure preferred). —xoxoxJenny
