How would you describe your sense of style? I buy a lot of vintage pieces from various eras, then resew and combine them in different ways to make them new.

When did you start experimenting with clothes? When I was 13 and started shopping at thrift stores.

What are you wearing in the photos? In the first, I’m wearing a vintage Hawaiian muumuu that I shortened and put darts in. It has a wave print on the hem, and it's my favorite dress. In the second, which was taken on my old ’83 Honda Accord, I'm wearing a killer white leather coat with a black lining, Seven jeans, and a blue paisley blouse.

Who are your favorite fashion designers? Miuccia Prada, Stella McCartney, Alberta Ferretti, and Stefano Pilati, the new designer for YSL.

What’s your favorite (and least favorite) fashion trend? My favorites are high-waisted pencil skirts and Victorian blouses. My least favorite are velour tracksuits.

Do you have any style icons? Edie Sedgwick, Brigitte Bardot, Farrah Faucett.

Do you have any tips or advice for our readers? Learn to develop your own personal style, and don't be afraid to add some flair to your wardrobe. Put on a scarf, wear yellow, match your purse and your shoes, wear white after Labor Day. And good Lord, stop wearing sweatpants outside of the house!
